Lunch With the People Who Do the Work

Today I had the opportunity to sit down for lunch with some of the people working on roads and infrastructure in our community.

It was a simple appreciation lunch — some food, some laughs and, most importantly, good conversation with people who do this work every day.

If we want to make better decisions about roads, sewers and infrastructure, we need to listen to the people who actually do the work. Their hands-on experience provides valuable insight into what works, what doesn't and where things can be improved.

Good leadership means listening to the people on the ground, asking questions and using their experience to help develop practical solutions.

That's the approach I want to bring to City Hall.
